Paper Piecing a Card Together

Paper Piecing a Card Together - www.Stamp4Joy.com

Paper piecing a card together can be a lot of fun. This one didn't take a lot of work because the beautiful papers in the New Horizons Designer Paper collection have spectacular scenes to begin with. So in this instance I only had to piece together the bus going up the hill.

To me, this card evokes a Sunday drive to the country for some incredible views… and maybe some nature photography or a picnic. What do you think? The bus looks a little old, hence the “hang in there” sentiment. LOL! Do you think it's going to make it up the hill?

As I said, I began with a scene from the New Horizons collection. Then I put my bus together.

Paper piecing a card. Okay, the bus.

The bus is from the Driving By stamp set, which you can pick up for free with a $50 order. It was stamped on a purple shaded sheet from the paper pack and then cut out without the fenders and tires. I then stamped it again on white cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, this time cutting out the fenders and tires and windows only. Once I colored them in using my Stampin' Blends they were ready to attach to my purple bus. Then I adhered it to my card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Believe it or not, there are three vehicles (along with three sentiments) included in this stamp set, but for some reason I'm just obsessed with the van. Promise, I'll make something with the other cars soon… I just have a few more ideas to make with the van. 😉

I used another part of the purple paper to stamp the sentiment, and then cut it out with one of the Tasteful Labels Dies. It was attached with a few more Stampin' Dimensionals..

Finally, I stamped a few birds emerging from the fog in the upper right-hand corner. That stamp is from On the Horizon.
