Hope You Have The Best Birthday; Acetate and Vellum

Hope You Have The Best Birthday - www.Stamp4Joy.com

“Hope you have the Best Birthday” is the card sentiment I used for this handmade birthday card. It and the other images came from the Friendly Hello stamp set, which you can pick up (along with the coordinating 12″ x 12″ designer paper) for FREE with a $100 order during Sale-A-Bration.

I tried a little something different, again using something you probably already have in your craft room: acetate and vellum!

I pulled some acetate from a stamp set and cut it to the size I wanted. Then I embossed it using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. (The acetate is pretty thin, so there's no need to spritz it with water before embossing.) It gave the acetate a subtle texture to it. You can't see it in the photo, but it almost looks like rain on a window.

The bird and flowers on the branch I stamped on Vellum Cardstock. I cut it out after coloring it with Stampin' Blends.

Underneath the black frame and acetate I stamped some leaves and a flower from the set and colored them in as needed before placing the frame over the top. The frame and card sentiment piece were both cut using a couple of the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I then layered the bird and flowers on the branch over the acetate, with the sentiment placed under the frame opening.

For the final touch I added a few of the Genial Gems.

I can't believe we're almost halfway through with Sale-A-Bration already!

Here's another birthday card idea you might like.
