Hello There Handmade Card

This Hello There handmade card design uses Perfectly Penciled designer paper, which is right up my alley… black and white designs that I love.

You've heard me say it before:  I think black-and-white cards can be quite striking and elegant!  You can also add just a pop of color to make it a wow!  However, just because your paper is black and white doesn't mean you can't modify it to make it rich and vibrant!

To the Rescue For Your Homemade Card Designs!

Like virtually all of our designer paper collections, Perfectly Penciled has different designs on each side. You can see all the patterns in the collection HERE.

Adding some color to the design really gave it a

totally different look.  These are two sides of the same sheet of paper, by the way… they coordinate perfectly.

I used Stampin' Blend colors from the 2022-2024 In Color Collection to add the color to the flowers, leaves, and butterflies.  The beauty of this paper is you really don't need to worry about shading, it's done for you!

The layer I cut out only had one butterfly on it, but

after I assembled the card I decided it needed more… you know, the rule of threes!  I found one on the strips I had cut from the edges, which was nice (don't throw out those scraps!), and then was delighted to find the sideways butterfly on the larger sheet.  I had missed that before!  Of course, I saved my favorite color — Tahitian Tide — to color the butterflies in with.  I cut out the two extras and popped them up with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

The greeting came from Nature's Prints stamp set (check out this super bundle which includes the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine), and I cut it out with one of the circle dies in Stylish Shapes, (pick them up in this bundle with the Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine) and popped that up with regular Stampin' Dimensionals.
