Make a Birthday Greeting Card

I wanted to make a birthday greeting card for a family member.  I wanted it to be a simple handmade card, but I didn't want it to be too frilly.  This is a pretty cute I think.

For the wine glasses and birthday sentiment I used the Brewed For You stamp set and the coordinating Brewed Dies.  (If you want to pick up both of them be sure to purchase them together in the Brewed For You Bundle you and save 10%.)  Rich Razzleberry ink was used for the wine and greeting.

I think it's the perfect color!  I used one of the dies from Stylish Shapes to cut out the birthday sentiment.

Did you know that you can pick up the Stylish Shapes in a bundle with the Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine?  That way you won't have to worry about listing two different item numbers when you order, and you'll have a very versatile die set to start your collection with!  It's a great starter set to make your own birthday greeting cards.

For the background behind the glass and sentiment I used some Balmy Blue cardstock and overlaid it with a pattern from the Layering Designs 12″ x 12″ Vellum.  I wanted something subtle but not too plain.  I think it works well! 🙂

The next layer down is another layer of white that I  embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder.  I love the worn, aged look of it, although it's a bit hard to see in the photo.

Here's a homemade thank you card idea that uses the Layering Designs Vellum again.
