If you're lucky enough to still have your mother around, you're probably beginning to think of ideas for Mothers Day DIY cards to make. This is the last month for Sale-A-Bration this year. Why not pick up what's on your Stampin' Up! list now and get a few FREE products while you're at it!
This floral Mothers Day card uses two items you can select FOR FREE from the Sale-A-Bration Second Release Brochure with a qualifying order. These will be available until March 31st or until they run out, whichever comes first.
I have a feeling the Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Paper will be very popular and might run out quickly! These papers are just beautiful with the rose gold and silver designs. I actually used all four of the paper patterns on this easy Mothers Day card. You can see three of the patterns used in the background. I cut the large flower from the fourth pattern and colored it in with my Stampin' Blends. I used Rococo Rose, Old Olive, and the Daffodil Delight combo packs on all the images.
My trusty Paper Snips were used to cut out both the larger flower and the card sentiment with the floral edging. They make fussy cutting so much easier! 🙂
The sentiment and frame came from another Sale-A-Bration item, and that's the Tags in Bloom stamp set. You'll find lots of options for mixing and matching. You'll be able to create handmade tags or cards for many different occasions with this collection, not just Mothers Day DIY cards!
And just as an aside, because I don't believe I've talked about this before, but have you used our Thick White Card Stock yet? I really enjoy using it for all my handmade card making. It doesn't “bow” when you start to layer or add elements to your card front, which I really appreciate. The thick card stock also comes in Very Vanilla if you prefer to use that. Or why not have both on hand?
Go ahead and place your order here and pick up some FREE GIFTS before Sale-A-Bration is over.
I used the sketch on the left as the starting point for this card design. Give it a try!
