If you're like me, you need to use your paper scraps more. I do keep most of my scraps — if it's large enough to put a greeting on or mount a greeting on I definitely keep it. If it's a strip of designer paper or a strip of colored card stock I often will keep it… you never know when that little snippet might just add the perfect touch to your handmade card designs, right? 😉 So, I have quite a bit of scraps. What to do?
I've decided that I'm going to make an effort to focus more on using up those scraps of paper as much as possible in my homemade greeting card ideas. In fact, I might just devote one day every week to that specific topic. Please let me know if you would like that.
As you know, I LOVE working in black and white, so as you can imagine I have quite a few designer paper patterns in black and white or cream. So I decided to pull out my Sweetheart Punch and punched out a few hearts in various black and white patterns. I sponged black ink along the outside edges to give them some dimension and then glued them to the card front. The greeting came from Words of Truth which I stamped in Real Red. I created little decorative ends with the Banner Punch and then sponged Real Red ink all along the edges of the greeting piece before mounting to the card.
So, how did I do? Please leave a comment and let me know.
