Unfortunately, I had to make a sympathy card recently. It's never a fun thing to do, but I always want to make something beautiful for the recipient.
NOTE: Most of these items are retired, but you can find many of them gently used and at a substantial discount on my Retired Rubber Stamps page.
For this condolence card I started with an embossed layer. I used the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder to create the subtle texture in white. The black and white striped paper is from the Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper. You can pick up these 12 sheets of double-sided 12-by-12 patterned paper for FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration. And they coordinate beautifully with the Honey Bee Bundle.
I layered a few dies that I created from scraps. I used the Layering Circles Dies for the black scallop, and a die from the Painted Labels Dies cut from Petal Pink card stock. I then used a framelit from the Magnolia Memory Dies to cut out the flower bud from the gorgeous Magnolia Lane Designer Paper pack.
Did you know that the Magnolia Lane Designer Paper is so popular that Stampin' Up! offers a bulk selection in the Magnolia Lane Bulk Pack?
The sympathy stamp came from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. You can find it in the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog Collection. I stamped it in Versamark Ink onto black card stock and then embossed in white. Then I used my Paper Snips to trim around the sentiment.
I hope you don't find a need to make a sympathy card any time soon, but if you do I hope this helps to inspire your creativity during a difficult time.
And for more inspiration, here's another handmade card idea using the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder.
