Easy Holiday Card for Christmas Card Sunday

Easy Holiday Card - www.Stamp4Joy.com

Today I'm showing an easy holiday card for Christmas Card Sunday featuring the A Wish for Peace stamp set. The set is retired, but you can find it on my Retired Rubber Stamps page under the Wood Stamps section.

All of the designer paper patterns are from the retired Deck the Halls paper collection. I gravitated to them because I feel like the darker, muted tones work well with the vintage, shabby chic style. What do you think?

Of course, I roughed up, tore, and sponged Early Espresso ink along all the edges. You can't tell from the photo, but I also added a bit of Wink of Stella to the wings of the dove. It adds just the right amount of sparkle.

Finally, I added some retired Cherry Cobbler 1″ Stitched-Edge Grosgrain Ribbon. It coordinates beautifully with the Cherry Cobbler paper design peeking out from beneath the other layers.

Every image included in this stamp set was used: the trees and church, the dove, and the holiday sentiment. You can see the inside of this easy holiday card in the photo on the left. The Christmas greeting was stamped and then layered on a scrap piece of Early Espresso card stock. Then I added a strip of designer paper along the bottom edge to tie in with the card front design.
