I decided to use the Trusty Toolbox Designer Paper to add a creative touch. I cut out some partial tools from the edges of the patterned paper and strategically placed them along the bottom of the card. It added a charming and masculine vibe that was just perfect for the occasion.
For the sentiment I wanted something that truly captured the essence of the celebration, so I mixed and matched words from different stamp sets. “Happy” came from the “Happy Father's Day” stamp in the Trusty Tools stamp set. “Birthday” is from the “Hope Your Birthday is wonderful stamp” in the Hooray for Surprises set. And last is the fabulous “DAD you're the best” stamp from Heartfelt Hellos, a free item you can select during Sale-A-Bration with a qualifying order.
To make the words pop I used Stampin' Write Markers, allowing me to selectively ink each word and even play around with different colors on the same stamp. The end result? A handmade birthday card that's not only a work of heart but also a visual delight.
