Sometimes when creating your DIY card ideas it helps to start with a sketch. That doesn't mean you have to follow the sketch exactly, but it helps to have a starting point to get your creativity going. In today's project I just turned the sketch on its side! 😉
Once again I relied on the beautiful Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper to create this cute DIY card.
I like how it turned out, but now that I'm looking at the photo I'm wondering if I shouldn't have done the layering on Basic Black card stock. I think it would have looked better in coordination with the black that surrounds the cut-out flower and in the cork tag. You can never go wrong with black!
What do you think?
Everything on this homemade card idea came from the Magnolia Lane Suite. Of course, I used the Magnolia Memory Dies to cut out the single blossom. I stamped the cork tag with the Hello in Memento Ink.
Then I tied it onto the stem using some Mossy Meadow Linen Thread, which comes in the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack. The White Linen Ribbon that comes in the pack is beautiful, too!

You'll see the sketch I started this project with in the photo on the left. Why not give it a try yourself?
