Would you like to create some cute bday cards?
I wanted to make a birthday card for my grand niece's first birthday, and I thought Little Ladybug would be perfect! You can pick up this adorable limited edition stamp set for FREE when you host a qualifying party, but only during Sale-A-Bration.
I started by stamping the cute ladybug on white card stock and then masked the image using a Post-It Note. Then I stamped the flower over the mask to give the illusion that the ladybug was standing (or sitting) on the flower petals.
I didn't color in the images until after I selected the designer papers I wanted to incorporate into the design. Once I made those decisions I could then select the coordinating Stampin' Blends to use. I chose Ivory, Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, and Old Olive, pulling the colors from the paper images.
The pretty paper patterns are from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, which you can find on Page 166 in the Annual Catalog.
For the Happy Birthday greeting I embossed it in white on black card stock. Then I used my Paper Snips to cut around the letters. I attached it to the card with a strip I cut off the edge of some Stampin' Dimensionals.
The inspiration to make a birthday card came from the card sketch layout you see on the left.
