Today is Easy Papercraft Friday, and this month we're going to focus on amazing animals.
What is Easy Paper Craft Friday?
Each month I will be focusing on one specific topic, and every Friday there will be a new handmade card design I’ve created with that topic in mind. I’d love it if you’d submit your own card idea for the month in the Comments section below.
February's Challenge: Amazing Animals
What animal warms your heart? Let's focus on amazing animals! You can make your card as simple or extravagant as you'd like. Below is what I came up with for this week.
Today's Project.
For me today it's bees. I made this vintage-looking birthday card for my aunt who loves bees! I went a
little shabby chic because that's just her style. She seemed to really like it!
I paired the Queen Bee Bundle with an assortment of paper patterns from the 12″ x 12″ Abigail Rose Designer Paper Collection. I tore all the paper edges to give it that old and worn, vintage feel and then sponged everything with Soft Suede ink. It helps to highlight the torn edges and give dimension between the layers.
I stamped the words in Soft Suede ink on Petal Pink cardstock. The delicate flowers were die cut from Petal Pink cardstock, too. And of course I added some pretty pearls to the flower centers.
I grabbed my Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends to color in the flowers, leaves, and heart on the queen bee.
I am always a bit intimidated when I try to create a vintage design, but I'm so happy with how this birthday card idea turned out.
So what amazing animal will you be featuring in your next homemade card design?
Here's another birthday greeting card I created last month for Easy Papercraft Friday using the Queen Bee Bundle.
