Sometimes you want to make a card for someone going through a hard time. You can create this motivational card by using one stamp and one die… they're perfectly matched!
I cut a number of the anchor die-cuts in navy, red, and white. I thought it would be the perfect color palette for the nautical theme. It's a little hard to see the white, but they're there.
I decided to make this a slimline card that would fit in a legal size envelope. I cut the card base to 9-1/4″ x 8-1/4″. Folded in half it measures 9-1/4″ by 4-1/8″. The top white layer is 8-7/8″ x 3-3/4″, and it was mounted on a red layer cut to 9″ x 3-7/8″. I needed 12 anchors evenly spaced to cover the front, which again I cut out of Night of Navy, Real Red, and Basic White cardstock.
I stamped the card sentiment in Real Red and then used the sentiment die to cut it out. Then I trimmed off the perforated edge so I could mount it on a red piece cut with the same die. That allowed me to have a small border around it to make it stand out.
The anchor came from the Smooth Sailing Dies and the sentiment is part of the Sailing Home stamp set. A perfect pairing, don't you think? Here's another handmade card idea using this excellent combo.
