Christmas in July — the perfect reminder to get started on those handmade holiday card ideas!
Here's a card idea using the Christmas Pines stamp set and the coordinating Pretty Pines Framelits. You can find both of these retired items on my Retired Rubber Stamps page. I do offer a discount if you're interested in purchasing both.
A layer of retired black and gold patterned paper was used underneath the Christmas greeting. I attached some strips of Basic Black Card Stock and Gold Foil Sheets along the right side of the designer paper because I wanted to continue the black and gold theme. I punched out “most” of a gold circle using a circle punch and attached it under the greeting.
The card sentiment was stamped in Cherry Cobbler Ink. The Stitched Nested Labels was used to cut it out, along with larger Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black layers. I love how they create the die-cuts with the stitching around the edges to give them some character without any additional effort.
My favorite part of this card design are the “sprigs” that I cut out using one of the dies. I used the Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blend to color some tiny pearls and attached them on the ends of the sprigs. My son calls it the “bedazzled” part. LOL! I think every card needs a little “bedazzling,” don't you? The sprigs were tucked under the greeting layer along the top right and bottom left edges. I love how it looks!
