Today's homemade Thank You card was inspired by this week's sketch challenge over at Sweet Sunday Sketch. I really love this particular card making template and think I'll probably use it again in the future.
I pulled the focal image from Remarkable You, a beautiful open image stamp set, and the greeting is from the stamp set Tin of Cards. The paper patterns came from a few different paper collections: Farmers Market Designer Paper and Pretty Petals Designer Paper Stack.
I wrapped the floral piece with some Gold Metallic Thread and topped it off with a Gold Metal Button. I have to admit, I have trouble corraling that thread. I don't know if it's just my clumsy fingers or what, but it is very fine. It's beautiful, though!
I used a watercoloring technique that eliminates the lines from the floral and leaf stamps to make the images more resemble true art. For this I used my Aqua Painter and ink from Daffodil Delight, Watermelon Wonder, and Cucumber Crush.
The lines you see on the card I drew myself using one of my Project Life Journaling Pens. If you look on Page 112 of the current Stampin' Up! Catalog, you'll notice the drawing is much finer than the lines that occur with the stamped image.
I am in the process of making a video demonstrating this technique for the members of Papercrafts Toolbox. Join today for a free 7-day trial!
