Teacher Thank You Card: Sneak Peek!

It's that time of year where you might want to think about making a teacher thank you card or two.  Since it's also Earth Day today I decided to create this card using a sneak peek from the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  It goes live in just 11 days on May 3rd!  Visit my Online Store then to see what's new and to place your order.

This handmade card design features a couple products from the new Sun Prints Suite (158805), but the real star of the show is the paper!

You might remember creating sun prints when you were younger, maybe even in school with a teacher.  🙂  These gorgeous paper designs (Sun Prints – 158790) are reminiscent of that.  I just cut off a corner of the 12″ x 12″ sheet to use for the card front.

The card sentiment came from the coordinating stamp set Nature's Prints (158793).  Embossing it in white directly on the paper makes it blend in perfectly with the paper.  Beautiful!  No further enhancement is needed for this teacher thank you card.

The trick to successfully embossing white on dark papers is to use an anti-static pouch to eliminate stray powder where you don't want it.  We no longer sell one, but here's a good one.  Just smooth it over your paper surface to remove any oils and static before stamping and applying the powder.

I think I'm going to have a lot of fun with this collection.  In the meantime, here's another Earth Day card making idea for you.
