Rubber Stamp Technique: Color Block

Rubber Stamp TechniqueI can't remember what this rubber stamp technique is called (if it even has a name), so I'll just call it color block. 🙂 The cute set of Halloween rubber stamps Toxic Treats was used on this card.

  • Stampin' Up! Stamps:  Toxic Treats (c-127901; w-127898)
  • Card Stock & Designer Paper:  Very Vanilla (101650), Basic Black (121045), Old Olive (100702), Tangerine Tango (111349), and More Mustard (100946), Basic Gray (121044), Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Paper (126906)

Select four coordinating colors for you main image. For this card I chose colors to coordinate with the designer paper I was using. Cut a 2-1/2″ x 3″ piece from each color.

  1. Cut a 3-1/4″ x 2-3/4″ piece of Basic Black cardstock.
  2. Stamp your main image in StazOn Jet Black ink on each of the four coordinated colors.
  3. Cut each of the four pieces into four equal pieces (1-1/4″ x 1-1/2″)
  4. Using a different color for each corner, mount the image on your Basic Black piece.
  5. Cut a 1-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ piece of designer paper and mount onto card base (cut 4-1/4″ x 11″, folded in half.
  6. Mount the main image piece over the designer paper onto card.
