UPDATE: My BOGO Retired Rubber Stamps Sale! has ended, but you can check out the list of sets I still have on my Retired Rubber Stamps page.
Today I decided to feature one of the retired Christmas sets you'll find there for sale.
I created this white Christmas card using the wonderful Pines & Poinsettias stamp set. A little simple stamping and embossing add a lot of detail without a ton of work.
I love the beautifully detailed images included in this set. Can't you just see the snow on the pinecones?
First I used my Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, and Shaded Spruce Stampin' Write Markers to color directly onto the rubber image before stamping on the white card stock. And then a couple Stitched Shapes Dies were used to cut the image in a circle and then a square to layer it over.
The Subtle 3D Embossing Folder was used to add just some slight texture to the underlying layer. I think it adds just the right amount of understated pattern without being overwhelming.
Cherry Cobbler Ink was used to stamp the Christmas banner, and then I cut it out using my Paper Snips. I eliminated the scroll design along the top of the banner for quick cutting. The “Merry” was also stamped in Cherry Cobbler Ink and then trimmed out. It's part of the “Merry Christmas” stamp in the Curvy Christmas Stamp Set, and it's a limited edition set only available until the beginning of January. And you can only pick it up in the Quite Curvy Variety Bundle.
