Making Friendship Greeting Cards

Friendship Greeting CardsDig into your scraps and you'll find yourself making friendship greeting cards in a snap, with a minimum amount of paper craft supplies!

This simple card uses half of an 8-1/2 x 11″ piece of card stock folded in half, and then some fairly small pieces of designer paper mounted on a base of black card stock cut at 3-3/4″ x 2-1/2″.  The patterns were selected out of the Summer Smooches collection from Stampin' Up!©.

To make this homemade card I cut each piece of patterned paper to the same size (3-1/2″ x 2-1/4″), and then cut them each into the same size blocks.  Now you have enough blocks for making three similar cards just by mixing and matching the patterns!

(HINT:  Don't forget to check out the back sides of these two-sided papers for more possible combinations!)

You can trim them down a little if you'd like.  I trimmed 1/8″ off the blue piece along the top to allow more black to peek through.

The greeting is from Tea Shoppe (wood-125545/clear-125547), and I stamped it in Real Red ink to coordinate with the paper.

So don't throw those paper scraps away, put them to good use!
