A quick and easy idea for making birthday cards is the embedded embossing technique. Adhere some designer paper to your card front and then run it through the Big Shot Sizzix die cutting machine with a textured impressions embossing folder. It can make for a pretty impressive and dramatic look, but couldn't be simpler. Here I used the Patio Party Designer Paper (from the upcoming 2012-2013 Stampin' Up! catalog) for lots of bold color.
