You can come up with homemade birthday card ideas very economically… this one just took a bit over half a sheet of card stock. That's about 11 cents! Where are you going to find nice handmade card designs for that price? 🙂
I cut a sheet of computer paper in half, ran a thin line of Multipurpose Liquid Glue along the straight edge of each piece, and then after it dried a bit I laid it on to my card front 1 1/2″ apart. The Stampin' Up! Grid Paper makes it easy to do, just line up the copy paper along one of the measured lines, over your card front, and then along the same measured line below. Super simple!
I sponged on a few colors — Crumb Cake ink, Tip Top Taupe ink, and Lost Lagoon ink– and then stamped a few of the images from the Sale-A-Bration set Flowering Fields in Garden Green ink. The greeting (from the Sale-A-Bration set Perfect Pairings) and butterfly I stamped in Lost Lagoon ink on a piece of scrap card stock, cut out, and attached using Stampin' Dimensionals.
The color combo and all the supplies used for this handmade birthday card are shown below.
