Elegant Christmas Card with a Beautiful Layered Poinsettia

An elegant Christmas card doesn't have to feature traditional red and green!  Sometimes a softer color combination, beautiful patterned paper, and a few delicate details are all you need to create something special.

For today's card I combined Basic Beige, Peaceful Pine, and Crumb Cake with a little shimmer and a lovely layered poinsettia.  And there's even a sneak peek at something new coming in November!

Elegant Christmas Card with Soft Colors and Beautiful Details

The Pretty Poinsettia Dies are definitely the star of this card.  The flower petals were cut  from Basic Beige Cardstock and the leaves from Peaceful Pine Cardstock..  I love how the soft beige petals stand out against those deep green leaves.  I did use a Sponge Dauber to apply some Crumb Cake ink around the edges of the petals to help show off the dimension.

Behind the poinsettia I tucked in a few Crumb Cake sprigs.   These were actually leftovers from my Rustic Christmas Wreath Card.

It's always nice when those extra die cuts find a home on another project!

A Little Shimmer and a Sneak Peek

That beautiful patterned paper in the background is from the Neutral Noel Specialty 12″ x 12″ Designer Paper.  It has a gorgeous golden sheen that adds just the right amount of elegance without overpowering the design.

I also wanted a subtle pattern running along the left edge of my card.  The Violet Dreams 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Paper had exactly what I was looking for.

I made my card with the fold on the left so that it opens on the right, allowing that pretty patterned strip to become part of the design.

And speaking of the Violet Dreams Collection, here's a little heads up!  This collection is currently on the Last Chance list, so it's available only while supplies last.

The oval behind my poinsettia is another piece from that collection, cut using the Framed Violets Dies.  I think it provides a lovely background for the Christmas sentiment while giving the floral arrangement a place to shine.

Now, did you notice that delicate trim running down the left side?  That's a sneak peek at the new Lacelet Trim coming in November!  Isn't it lovely?  It's such a pretty addition, and I can already imagine using it on all sorts of projects.

Finishing Touches

I stamped the Christmas sentiment in Peaceful Pine ink to coordinate with the leaves and cardstock.

A few Barely Blush dots from the 2026–2028 In Color collection add a soft touch of color.  I placed a couple around the sentiment and one in the center of the poinsettia.

I love how these little details bring everything together without making the card feel too busy.

This elegant Christmas card is a wonderful example of how mixing different paper collections and using leftover die cuts can create something beautiful.

And remember, you don't need to have these exact supplies to make something similar.  Look through your stash for a favorite floral die, an oval shape, and some softly patterned paper.  You might be surprised at what you can put together!
