This easy birthday card for my sister is perfect, as she likes all things western.
The boot and greetings can be found in Bootiful Occasions, and were stamped in Night of Navy on a pattern from the Flower Pot Designer Paper collection. I also used it as a background for the focal piece.
I created some fringe for the boot by using my Paper Snips on a scrap piece of Lost Lagoon card stock. Then I added some rhinestones to give it a little extra feminine flair. I like how it turned out, don't you?
You might notice that the bottom greeting is from the Halloween stamp in the set. I decided to trim the greeting from the boot stamp so I could use it separately. I did the same with the “Kick up yer heels” greeting.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Although I've separated images on stamps before, this time I forgot one important thing — trim while looking at the RUBBER side, not the image. I ended up cutting off part of the bottom of the boot and the heel this time. Ugh! I was able to carefully draw it in using my Night of Navy Stampin' Writer, but you'll find it much easier if you just don't cut off part of the image. 😉
