Sometimes I like to use a sketch to help inspire my handmade card designs.
For this card I started with a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, and although my center focal piece kept getting larger and larger, I think you can still see the basic sketch in the card. LOL!
I grabbed the greeting from the stamp set For All Things, which you can find in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog. The flowers came from Bloom With Hope and were colored in using my Blendabilities. The patterned paper came from the Confetti Celebration Designer Paper.
We've been talking lately about using up our paper scraps, but here's a way to create some extra paper scraps and conserve your card stock and designer papers.
I will often cut out the center of some layers, which will leave me large enough scraps to use in future projects. Our Stampin' Trimmer works so well for this, as you can line up where you start and stop your cuts. Since it will be behind another layer, the cuts don't even have to be exact, and it helps cut down on the weight and thickness of the overall card.
