This Photo Booth Card Tutorial started with one of those ideas that just pops into your head out of nowhere. I honestly have no idea what made me think of a photo booth, but once the idea was there I couldn't stop thinking about it!
I kept picturing a little curtain, a strip of photos coming out of the booth, and all those fun details that would make it actually look like a miniature photo booth. Eventually, there was only one thing to do — sit down and see if I could turn the idea in my head into a card. And I'm so glad I did!
Photo Booth Card With Lots of Little Details
Because I wanted enough room to play with the design, I made this one a slimline card measuring 4-1/4″ x 9-1/4″. That gave me the extra height I needed to create the photo booth while still leaving room for all the little details that make it fun.
One of my favorite parts has to be the mini pleated curtain. I wanted it to have some actual dimension, so I folded the cardstock to create little pleats. It's such a simple detail, but it adds so much personality.
Then, of course, a photo booth needs photos!
I used the film strip die from the Capturing Smiles Bundle and created tiny “photos” to come out of the little “photo op” dispenser. Having that film strip peeking out makes the whole idea come together.
I added the PHOTOS banner across the top to make it immediately recognizable as a photo booth. The “love this Smile” sentiment, along with the little red heart, seemed like the perfect finishing touch. After all, isn't that exactly what those little photo booth pictures are all about, capturing a smile and a memory?
From an Idea in My Head to a Full Tutorial

I had such a good time taking this slightly random idea from “Wouldn't it be fun if…” to an actual card sitting on my craft table. Those unexpected ideas are sometimes the most fun ones to make!
