Christmas Card Sunday: Rubber Stamping Christmas Cards

Rubber Stamping Christmas Cards - blog.Stamp4Joy.comWhen rubber stamping Christmas cards, try mixing and matching images, papers, and accessories to come up with some beautiful handmade card designs.

For Christmas Card Sunday today I decided to go shabby chic!  I love the look of vintage Christmas cards, I don't know why I don't spend more time making them.

The beauty of these card making projects is you don't have to be precise in your layouts, as in straight! I don't know about you, but I always feel my greetings are crooked.  🙂

Lots of layers and sponging, it's a great way to use up bits of left over designer paper, random snippets of ribbon and accessories… what's not to love?!?

Joyful SeasonThis card features the retired Joyful Season, which you can find for sale on my Retired Rubber Stamps page.  This is a gorgeous stamp set of two-step stamps that creates simply lovely images.

You might notice the little bit of texture behind the bird. That was accomplished by using the large texture image found in You've Got This.  It almost gives it the impression of linen, although you might not be able to see it well in the photo.

I added some swatches of retired designer paper which I tore, crinkled, ripped, and sponged with Early Espresso Classic Ink.  I also frayed the ends and sponged on a bit of Early Espresso ink to the White Jute Ribbon, which is retiring this month. With the addition of a few Designer Buttons from the Neutrals collection (also retiring), I was done!

Go ahead and check out what's still available from the Retiring List.  The accessories are only available while supplies last and the stamps are only guaranteed to be available until May 22nd.
