Homemade Christmas Card Sunday: Joyous Celebrations

Handmade Christmas Card Sunday - Joyous Celebrations - blog.Stamp4Joy.comToday's homemade Christmas card begins with a beautiful paper pattern from a retired designer paper collection… sorry, I can't remember the name of it.  I cut it into three pieces of 1 3/4″ x 4 1/8″ each and mounted them onto the card front.

The focal point is the “JOY” in the decorative oval frame, stamped in Night of Navy ink. These both came from the Stampin' Up! retired stamp set Joyous Celebrations, which you can find on my Retired Rubber Stamps Sale page.

I couldn't decide what to do with the Christmas sentiment piece after I punched it out with the Extra-Large Oval Punch.  I considered stringing it along the top, then thought I'd add a Silver Ribbon bow or tie to it, but I didn't care for any of those options.

I finally settled on looping a bunch of the Silver Ribbon behind it and layering the frame on top.  I'm still not sure I like it.  What do you think?

I'm curious:  Have you started to think about the design for your homemade Christmas card yet?
