Butterfly Basics Birthday Card for Sister

birthday card for brendaI can't believe it, but I'm ahead of the game!  This is a birthday card for my sister, whose birthday is in December!  Of course, I may make others I like more between now and then, but I'm pretty happy with this one.

Butterfly Basics is a beautiful, feminine set, and lends itself well to more vintage birthday cards and those with a more shabby chic look.

This stamp set is retired, but you can find a gently used one on my Retired Rubber Stamps page.

Honestly, I was going to use the Brick Wall embossing folder for the background, but I couldn't find where I put it!  LOL!  So instead I pulled the wooden plank patterned paper from the Farmers Market Designer Paper collection.  I stamped the leaves directly on it in Tip Top Taupe, and ILCS53stamped everything else on Whisper White and either fussy cut it out or used a coordinating punch or framelit.  The greeting came from Stake Your Claim.  I added some delicate Mint Macaron Dotteed Lace Trim and a few Pearl Jewels for a little extra charm.

This handmade birthday card began with this week's sketch at i Love Card Sketches.  Try it for yourself!
